Bar padlock with two keys

 

Central Europe, first half of 19th century

 

Forged, polished iron and lathe-turned brass. Solid cylindrical bar, housing set with bronze strip moulding. Two-key locking mechanism, keyhole under a hinged spring-loaded plate. The circular bows on the keys are filled with decorative patterns and attached to the baluster-shaped collars. Hollow star-shaped shanks on the keys.
